Reindeer decoration on a jumper

How to Make a Christmas Jumper

Take a jumper you already own and jazz it up for Christmas!

Instead of purchasing a new Christmas jumper this year, why not decorate a jumper or cardigan that you already have, or pick up a second-hand one from a charity shop that you can accessorise?

It's a lot easier than you might think. We've put together some step-by-step guides and templates to get you started, with help from Sew Fabulous.

More Christmas Jumper Inspiration

Don't fancy decorating your own jumper?

Second-hand, swap or share

If you don't feel that handy with a needle and thread, why not consider buying a pre-loved Christmas jumper or swap and share last year's jumper with friends and family instead? We know that keeping our Christmas jumpers and other clothes in use for longer reduces the environmental impact of clothing. Extending the length of time we wear clothes by just three months would lead to a 5-10% reduction in their carbon, water and waste footprints.

Donate to charity

Buying a Christmas jumper is often in response to charity fundraising appeals, but you could jazz up a jumper and make a charitable donation with the money you've saved to your chosen cause instead.
